Repairing Our Health System

Our health system is bordering on disarray with ambulance officers, nurses and doctors struggling with overwork and fatigue.

The last ambulance was commissioned in 2017 so we are 4 years behind in filling the current needs. ‘Activity based’ funding should be the basis of ambulance officer remuneration.

Nurse and doctor patient ratios should be determined and enforced. Hospitals should have standardised practices for receiving patients and for moving them from E.D. to ‘back of house’.

Mental Health patients must have separate specialised facilities provided for them, not the ED’s of public hospitals.
